Pitcher Plant

Designated the official provincial flower of Newfoundland in 1954, this plant is commonly found in bogs and marshes. The carnivorous wetland plant is nourished by insects that get trapped in rainwater that collects at the base of its tubular pitcher-shaped leaves.
